The Master Calendar exists because Jaeger-LeCoultre believed a complete calendar deserved a more dignified arrangement than the typical layout offers, and the dial here proves the point. Day at 9 o'clock, month at 3, small seconds combined with moonphase at 6, and a power reserve indicator at 12, with date tracked by a central hand tipped in a red crescent moon, sweeping over an outer minute track printed with the date scale. Four complications, one dial, and a degree of legibility that more cluttered full calendars rarely achieve. The 40mm stainless steel case wears at 13mm thin, the polished surfaces and concave lugs giving the watch a dressier profile despite the complexity it carries. The silver dial pairs dart indexes with luminescent dauphine hands, restrained and legible in equal measure. Caliber 866 powers the complete calendar automatically with 50 hours of power reserve, a movement Jaeger-LeCoultre built to handle the demands of four simultaneous functions without strain, visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback. 2007 production, incredible condition, box and papers included.
